Principal investigator

Meghna Gupta, Ph.D.

Meghna Gupta is a tenure-track assistant professor at OHSU. She started the research group in February 2024. She received extensive experience in membrane protein structural biology using CryoEM and X-ray crystallography as a postdoctoral scholar and specialist in the Stroud lab at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF). During this time she received a postdoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association (AHA) followed by a K99/R00 pathway to independence award from the National Institute on Aging (NIA)/NIH for her research on peroxisome biology.

Postdoctoral Scholar

Devin Seka, Ph.D.

Devin Seka is a postdoctoral scholar in the Gupta lab and started at OHSU in August of 2024. He received a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from Chatham University in Pittsburgh PA, prior to earning his PhD from the University of Arizona. During his time at U of A, Devin conducted research in the Tomasiak Lab, focusing on human and fungal membrane protein complexes, with an emphasis on protein structure and function. His expertise includes cell-based experiments, biochemical techniques, and structural analysis via cryogenic sample electron microscopy (CryoEM). At OHSU, Devin is currently investigating peroxisome formation and dysfunction.
